Sharp and hilarious satire on the feminine condition in Mexico: in a beauty salon, a magic hairdryer sends the clients through time, where Sor Juana, La Malinche and Carlota question marriage and social expectations.

The Experience

Teatro Reforma (Juan Moisés Calleja) stands on Paseo de la Reforma 476, in the Juárez neighbourhood, a few steps from the Angel of Independence and Insurgentes metro station. It is a 324-seat house with free-admission programming: arrive early, because most performances are sold out and the queue forms before the doors open. Showtimes are Fridays at 8:00 pm, Saturdays at 7:00 pm and Sundays at 5:00 pm, during the August to October 2026 season.

About the Comedy Show

In a Mexico City beauty salon, a hairdryer with unexpected powers turns into a time machine. While the clients wait their turn, the device carries them to different moments in the country's history and puts three women who changed its story face to face: Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, La Malinche and Carlota. The three of them talk, argue and mock what society expects from them: marriage, obedience, appearance and the role they were given. El Eterno Femenino is a sharp, hilarious satire on the feminine condition in Mexico, with beauty salon humour and questions that are still current. The production is staged at Teatro Reforma, also known as Teatro Juan Moisés Calleja, as part of the IMSS FIDTEATROS programme, with free admission and a cast led by Aida López, Ximena Romo Mercado and Pedro de Tavira Egurrola, directed by Mahalat Sánchez.
